Grammy winning reggae group Morgan Heritage is featured on the upcoming soundtrack for the movie, Coming 2 America.
Coming 2 America is the sequel to 1988 film, Coming to America.
Morgan Heritage’s collaborative single Hallelujah with Tanzanian artiste Diamond Platnumz, is one of the 16 songs on the upcoming movie.
Hallelujah was released in September 2017, but was banned by the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) after being labelled blasphemous with the video “praising indecent ladies”.
Morgan Heritage disagreed with the ban, stating it did nothing wrong by glorifying women using Biblical literature.
The album titled Rhythms of Zamunda: Music Inspired by Coming 2 America, features various artistes across Africa, and is being released by Def Jam Records.
It will be released on March 5, the same day as the motion picture, and will be available via Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms.
Coming 2 America will star Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, and will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
