Nominations officially open for post of PNP president

Julian Robinson

Nominations for the post of president of the People's National Party (PNP) were formally opened on Monday.

The period ends on Friday.

So far, Mark Golding and Lisa Hanna have indicated their intention to challenge for the position.

"There's a nomination form, which has to be completed by the candidate and signed by 12 financial members of the party. There's a nomination fee of $100,000. Once that is completed and the secretariat has done the checks to verify that all the persons nominating the persons are in fact financial members, then the person is duly nominated to offer themselves for the position of president of the party," PNP General Secretary Julian Robinson explained.

The election is set for November 7.
