OCA could get involved in pepper spray incident involving ex-cop

The attorney representing the father and son who were pepper sprayed by the police last week wants the Office of the Children's Advocate to become involved in the matter.

In a letter on Tuesday to the Children's Advocate, attorney Bert Samuels, said the office should investigate the matter with a view to taking action if necessary.

Mr. Samuels has pointed out that the son is 16 years old and was dressed in his high school uniform at the time of the incident.

Retired cop Altemorth"Parro" Campbell and his son were pepper-sprayed after he disobeyed a constable's directive to exit his vehicle to be arrested during a traffic stop on Molynes Road in St. Andrew last Wednesday.

The Inspectorate of Constabulary is investigating the incident.
