The state witness in the One Don Gang trial, that is underway in the Home Circuit Court, on Tuesday morning revealed that he reached out to the police after he heard alleged gang members plotting to kill a member of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (C-TOC).
He also said while he was in custody in 2019, he decided that he did not want to participate further in the gang.
The witness, who is now being cross-examined by defense counsel, said he volunteered to give evidence against alleged gang leader Andre "Blackman" Bryan and his 32 co-accused despite the risk that he might be killed after the trial.
He also said his family will always be in danger.
Agreeing that there are inconsistencies in his testimony and his statement, he explained that he withheld information in his statement to the police.
He explained that his testimony in court was more detailed because the alleged gangsters now know his identity.
