Opposition calls for report on alleged impropriety at Dunn's River Falls to be made public

Dr. Wykeham McNeill, Opposition Spokesman on Tourism
Opposition Spokesman on Tourism Dr. Wykeham McNeill is calling for the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) to make public the audit report on alleged impropriety at the Dunn's River Falls and Park in St. Ann.
The UDC announced on Monday that the probe into the possible theft of funds has been completed.
It said copies of the final report have been submitted to Auditor General Pamela Monroe Ellis and the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch.
Dr. McNeill said the public deserves to know the full extent of the irregularities which precipitated the investigation and the recommendations made in the report.
He added that the UDC needs to say whether anyone will be held accountable.
In a statement Monday morning, Chairman of the Urban Development Corporation Senator Ransford Braham said the report highlighted a series of longstanding governance and operational issues pertaining to the irregularities with ticketing revenue.
Senator Braham said the report, compiled by an international auditing firm, made a series of wide-ranging recommendations.
He said, as part of the recommendations, immediate steps are being taken to implement an independent Programme Management Office to oversee the change management process.
Senator Braham added that an interim manager of Dunn's River Falls and Park has been employed to work with the programme management office to ensure the specific recommendations are carried out.
