Workers in the construction industry are to receive a pay increase under a new two year agreement.
The Joint Industrial Council for the building and construction industry has completed negotiations on wage increases and working conditions.
The Council, which represents the employers and unions representing the workers, has agreed to wage increases of 6 per cent in year one and 5 per cent the following year.
The agreement took effect yesterday.
The 2019 to 2021 agreement is to be signed on February 8.
