Allan Rickards
Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips has expressed sadness at the passing of agriculturist and former chairman of the All Island Jamaica Cane Farmers Association Allan Rickards.
Mr. Rickards died night after ailing for some time.
He was 79 years old.
Dr. Phillips says for decades Mr. Rickards was a powerful voice for the local agricultural sector.
He said Mr. Rickards was also relentless in his mission to rescue the sugar industry.
