Julian Robinson and public commentator Martin Henry
People's National Party (PNP) General Secretary Julian Robinson has said there is need for clarification based on inconsistencies in the reported qualifications of the Human Resources Manager at Petrojam.
Petrojam General Manager Floyd Grindley had told Parliament's Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC) three weeks ago that the Human Resources Manager held a master's degree.
However, Telroy Morgan, Acting Manager of Refinery Optimization and Business Support at Petrojam, on Wednesday said her highest tertiary qualification is a bachelor's degree.
Mr. Morgan said she was considered qualified for the job as she had received several professional certificates since obtaining her first degree.
But Mr. Robinson believes the Petrojam general manager should clarify the source of the initial information he presented before the Parliamentary committee that Ms Ramharrack had possessed a master's degree.
"I don't know who would have briefed him when he said what he said, but there's a clear inconsistency," Mr. Robinson asserted.
Opposition also to blame
Meanwhile, Public Commentator Martin Henry said the Parliamentary Opposition cannot absolve itself from blame in relation to the problems being revealed at the state run oil refinery.
Speaking Wednesday night on TVJ's All Angles, Mr. Henry reminded the Opposition that the challenges started long before 2016 when the present government came into power.
"I find the opposition very disingenuous in Dr. Phillips's questions in Parliament and so on, as if there is no history, no genesis, no context in which Petrojam's problems have arisen," Mr. Henry argued.
