Police Commissioner vows strong action against flare-up of violence in sections of Kingston

 
Following a flare up of violence in sections of Kingston, Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson and a team from the police high command toured the affected areas on Sunday.
 
General Anderson declared that the police will act swiftly to curb the violence and prevent an escalation.
 
He added that the police will be working closely with the Jamaica Defence Force to prevent reprisals and restore peace in the affected communities.
 
On Saturday, two persons were killed and four others wounded in a gun attack along Regent Street. Hours earlier on West Street two more persons were killed and three others wounded in a similar attack.
 
Five people have so far been killed and eight wounded in the recent flare up of violence.
