Police monitoring Spanish Town after gang feud leaves two dead in 24 hours

The police are keeping a close watch on sections of Spanish Town, St. Catherine following a flare up in the feud involving rival members of the Clansman gang.
 
Radio Jamaica News has been informed that four persons have been murdered over the last week as the gang members battle for control of the extortion racket in Spanish Town.
 
The latest victim, an unidentified man, was shot at the bus terminus shortly after 8 o'clock Tuesday morning.
 
It was the second fatal shooting in the area within 24 hours.
 
Another man was shot dead on Monday on Burke Road, metres away from the Spanish Town police station.
 
He has been identified as 28 year old Kevon Lewis, of a De la Vega address.
 
Mr. Lewis was standing in the town square when he was approached by armed men who shot him several times.
 
Mr. Lewis was pronounced dead at hospital.
