Police probing shooting on UWI campus

A probe is being carried out into a shooting Friday morning on the University of the West Indies, UWI, Mona campus.
 
Shortly before 9 o'clock gunmen in a car opened fire on sanitary workers who were travelling on a garbage truck.
 
Norman Heywood, Director of Security the UWI, told Radio Jamaica News that two men carried out the attack in the vicinity of the Mona Bowl.  
 
He said the truck was in the process of collecting garbage when two men alighted a motor vehicle, approached the garbage truck and began firing at the occupants. 
 
The sanitary workers were forced to jump from the truck as the driver sped off to escape the attack. 
 
No one was hurt.  
 
Investigators have not yet established a motive for the attack.
