Policeman hospitalised following crash in St. Thomas

A police constable attached to the Police Area 5 Headquarters in Kingston has been hospitalised following a motor vehicle crash along the 14 Miles main road in St. Thomas Monday evening.
It is reported that about 7:50, the constable was driving a Toyota Hilux pick-up service vehicle when he lost control of it.
The vehicle hit a Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) pole, knocking it out of place, then swerved across the road and hit an embankment.
The cop, who received serious injuries, was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital.
The service vehicle was badly damaged.
The crash resulted in a traffic pile up.
A team from the JPS had to be called to replace the utility pole.
