Public health inspectors appeal for more resources, better pay

Michael Myles, President, Jamaica Association of Public Health Inspectors

An increasing number of public health inspectors are reportedly leaving Jamaica, frustrated with resource constraints and low salaries.

Michael Myles, President of the Jamaica Association of Public Health Inspectors, recently declared that the public health system is facing increased pressure due to inadequate resources and lack of proper solid waste management.

He complained that public health inspectors are not being adequately compensated by the government.

According to Mr Myles, public health inspectors have also been complaining about fatigue.
