Security forces increasing presence in Kingston Western this Christmas

Senior Superintendent of Police Michael Phipps, head of the Kingston Western Police Division
The Kingston Western Police Division says the security forces will increase their presence in the area during the Christmas period.
Additional police and military personnel will be deployed in the downtown Kingston commercial district.
"Our activities will be geared mainly towards the prevention of violence and especially property crimes, and much of our efforts will be geared towards the maintenance of public order within the particular space. So what the public will see is greater deployment in terms of mobile and foot patrols, and a special feature of this year's deployment will include some aspects of technology," Kingston Western divisional head Senior Superintendent of Police Michael Phipps told Radio Jamaica News
The authorities imposed a curfew in sections of the division earlier this week to quell gang conflict.
Several men wanted for murders and shootings have been arrested.
