The Senate on Friday afternoon commenced debate on the Dog (Liability for Attacks) Act.
The deliberations will continue next week.
The Bill was passed in the House of Representatives on November 17.
It provides for criminal and civil liability for an owner of a dog that attacks, injures or causes the death of a person.
