Senior citizen suspected of killing spouse in Clarendon

A 69-year-old man is in hospital under police guard suspected of killing his spouse in Lionel Town, Clarendon on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 67-year-old Pamela Gregory.
Mrs Gregory, who is bedridden, was found with her throat slashed inside the couple's house in the Lionel Town Housing Scheme.
When Radio Jamaica News visited the scene, the husband was being escorted into a police car in handcuffs.
It's understood that he had been caring for his wife who has been ill for sometime.
Family members declined to speak but residents looked on in disbelief, telling Radio Jamaica News that the discovery was shocking.
They described the couple as "quiet", adding that there was no sign of domestic issues.
The suspect was reportedly injured during a tussle with a relative who went to check on the couple after being alerted of the murder.
Investigators are trying to unearth the circumstances that led to the incident.
