A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his mother in Benin, Brown's Town, St. Ann in July.
Daniel Campbell was previously charged with wounding.
On Friday, the charge was upgraded after a post mortem confirmed that 60- year-old Glascora Campbell died from blunt force trauma.
It is alleged that Mr. Campbell used a stone to hit his mother on the head.
The incident stemmed from an altercation at their home on July 28.
Mrs Campbell died several days later in hospital.
