Stay-at-home order extended for persons 65 and older

Prime Minister Andrew Holness
The stay-at-home order for persons 65 years and older has been extended for two weeks.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says thereafter, Cabinet will conduct a review and make an amendment to the order in the middle of July.
However, he admitted that part of the concern for people 65 and older rested in the fact that they are more susceptible to catching the coronavirus, "especially at this time when we are bringing home our Jamaicans who are coming to look for grandma, look for uncle, who they haven't seen."
"In fact, on the (JamCovid) app...almost 2,000 people say 'I am coming to look for relatives' and I think that can be the danger," he warned.
Mr. Holness was speaking at Monday's virtual media briefing.
