Taxi operators continue protest on Highgate to Guy's Hill road in St. Mary

Taxi operators who ply the Guy's Hill to Highgate route in St. Mary have blocked the thoroughfare for the second consecutive day.
 
They are demanding that the road be repaired.
 
Taxi operator Alden Stephenson says he is frustrated with the lack of attention to the state of the road. 
 
"I have to park my car because the damage that the road bring to the car is unrepairable and suh me feel it fi di rest a man...weh deh out here day by day," he lamented. 
 
"This is not road anymore; this typically is a river stream. When the rain fall, it nuh get the chance to go in the river anymore because the potholes are so deep the water stop right there. Now we not raising fish, we running taxi," he complained. 
 
The taxi operators began their protest on Monday, blocking sections of the road which left students, teachers and other commuters stranded.
 
Dr. Morais Guy, Member of Parliament for St. Mary Central, has said the road is on the repair list.
