A teenager who robbed and murdered a gay Jamaican at his home because he believed the victim was interested in him, has been jailed for a minimum of 15 years in the UK.
Usher Sawyers was 15 when he stabbed Martin Thomas to death with a kitchen knife at his house in Roehampton, south west London, on April 22 last year.
Sawyers, who dropped his blood-spattered hat as he fled the scene, was on Friday convicted of the 39-year-old Jamaican's murder after a trial at the Old Bailey.
His accomplices - a 14-year-old boy and 20 year old Odel Munroe - were cleared of murder.
They were however found guilty of manslaughter and robbing the victim of a phone, laptop and a video camera.
The trial heard how Sawyers exchanged calls and texts with the victim in the days leading up to the killing.
Sawyers, now 16, Munroe, who is from Wandsworth, south London, and the 14-year-old all denied murder.
