Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, Communication Officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force

The curfew which was imposed in Trench Town, Kingston, last week has again been extended.

Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, Communication Officer for the Jamaica Constabulary Force, told Radio Jamaica News that the curfew will continue until Wednesday evening.

She said the police and military will maintain a strong presence in the Kingston Western division.

"So far, they have not seized any of the weapons or arrested any of the major persons who they are looking for but they have processed a number of other persons. They are focusing on now really to remain on the ground, to occupy the space, and to ensure that the citizens are not affected by the gang conflict that's currently going on in the space," she reported.

The curfew was imposed last Friday following a spate of shootings in Trench Town.
