Trinidad & Tobago records third COVID-19 death

Trinidad & Tobago has recorded a third death from the coronavirus.

A statement from the twin-island republic's Ministry of Health on Saturday said there are now 76 positive cases of the respiratory illness.

One person has been discharged.

Five hundred samples have been tested.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh warned on Frifday that the country is at a tipping point this weekend and could have an exponential rise in covid-19 cases if the almost 20,000 nationals who returned to the country recently do not self-quarantine.

Mr Deyalsingh said the vast majority of the returning nationals came from the UK, Canada and the US.
