Vaccination blitz underway

 

Another COVID-19 vaccination blitz is underway across Jamaica and Director of Family Health Services Dr Melody Ennis is urging all persons eligible for inoculation to make appointments and go to vaccination centres at the assigned time.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness is pushing to inoculate 150,000 people in a vaccination blitz starting on Saturday morning.

Island-wide vaccination is resuming following receipt of a shipment of 300,000 doses of  the AstraZeneca vaccine from the United Kingdom on Friday.

Dr. Ennis, speaking Friday on Radio Jamaica’s Beyond the Headlines, said persons who show up at vaccination centres without an appointment could face a long wait.

Persons can make vaccination appointments via the website of the Ministry of Health & Wellness.

Dr. Ennis says the issues which caused chaos in previous vaccination exercises have been resolved:
