The National COVID-19 Vaccination Operationalization Task Force says the government must expedite efforts to begin allowing self-testing for COVID-19.
In its latest set of recommendations to the government, it noted the high cost and limited availability of testing serve as deterrents to widespread and frequent testing.
It wants the licensing, importation and widespread distribution of home testing kits to be expedited.
The task force is also recommending the certification of more testing centres.
It says there needs to be close coordination between the private sector and the Ministry of Health to get both recommendations implemented in the shortest time possible.
It says early diagnosis is key to limiting spread as the country braces for a fourth wave of COVID-19 infections.
