Trinidad and Tobago's government has begun statistical groundwork for the decriminalising of marijuana possession.
Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi told the T&T Guardian that he is reviewing the Dangerous Drugs Act and wide consultation is planned before any policy decision is taken.
He said there has been a full exercise of analysing the types of crime in prisons and the pre-trials detention or remand statistics for a range of offences, including possession of narcotics, and particularly possession of cannabis.
