All set for JAAA elections

It's all systems go for Saturday’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).

The highly-anticipated voting congress will be held at the National Arena in Kingston, with the AGM set for a 9:00 am start and the elections to follow.

Saturday's elections will see the top office for the powerful organization being contested for the first time in eight years.

Sitting Honorary Secretary Garth Gayle will face off with veteran administrator and former vice-president Donald Quarrie.

In addition to the position of president, there will be elections for the posts of general secretary with sitting assistant secretary Marie Tavares up against veteran sports administrator Anthony Davis, and sitting director of records Leroy Cooke being opposed by veteran administrator Wayne Long. 

Current vice presidents Ian Forbes, Lincoln Eatmon, Michael Frater and Vilma Charlton have all been nominated unopposed.
