Brathwaite backs Campbell to come good on Bangladesh tour

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Renardo Brown

Stand-in West Indies test captain Kraig Brathwaite has backed Jamaican opening batsman John Campbell to follow-up from his second innings half-century against New Zealand in December.

With two half-centuries in his 11 match test career, Campbell has come-in for harsh criticism surrounding his poor return with the bat at the international level.

However, the upcoming two test series against Bangladesh presents another opportunity for the 27 year old to cement a place in the Windies test team.

Even with 12 first team players missing from the tour, Brathwaite says the current group has the ability to do well against Bangladesh.

The Windies are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Sunday and will play the hosts in three One Day Internationals and two tests starting on January 20.
