Caribbean women set for cricket coaching education course

Women across the region will soon get an opportunity at cricket coaching education delivered via a women's foundation course. That's according to Cricket West Indies, which on Monday announced the free online course for over 80 present and past players.

According to CWI, the course will include an interview series with special guests that explores the past, present and future of West Indies women's cricket, as well as several cricket development workshops held in Antigua.

Several islands, including Jamaica, have seen a decline in player development over the years as a result of weakened school and club leagues for women and girls.

CWI says the aim of these initiatives is to engage, inspire and recruit more female players, coaches and course facilitators. The course will begin on Tuesday.

Chris Brabazon, CWI’s Coaching Development Manager, will be part of the CWI team who will be delivering these events in collaboration with territorial boards, ministries of sports and a host of past greats and contributors to West Indies Cricket.
