Croatia beat Morocco to finish third at FIFA World Cup

For the second time in their history, Croatia finished as the third best team at the FIFA World Cup, following a 2-1 win over Morocco at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.

The Europeans hit the front in the 7th minute through Josko Gvardiol only for it to be cancelled out two minutes later by Achraf Dari.

The 2018 beaten finalists sealed the third spot when Miroslav Orsic curled in a beauty three minutes before the half time interval.

Croatia also finished third in 1998. Morocco's fourth place finish is the highest for any team from the African continent.
