CWI boss gives greater attention to governance and player relationship

Voice of CWI president Ricky Skerritt

Just over a year into his tenure so far as president of Cricket West Indies (CWI), Ricky Skerritt says rebuilding a proper board and player relationship have been at the forefront of his administration's mandate so far. Skerritt who defeated Jamaican Dave Cameron in last year's elections, says garnering the interest of key shareholders has also topped the 12 month period so far.

Meanwhile, Skerritt has defended the contentious decision to make sweeping changes to the coaching staff weeks before the World Cup and the reappointment of Phil Simmons as head coach even as the team failed to make strides in the rankings.

Skerritt who was speaking on CNC3 Television in Trinidad recently, added that in short order there will be term limits for those at the helm of the regional governing body.
