The Patrick Fong-trained and Bebeto Harvey-ridden Durocell went from gate to wire in landing Saturday's feature event, the Hotline Stakes over 6 furlongs, as native bred 3 year old fillies began their build-up to the classics at Caymanas Park.
The 3-1 chance Durocell under a brilliant front running ride from Harvey, held off a late charge from the 7-5 favourite Royal Ash the 3 year old chestnut filly came home in a minute and 15 seconds flat, winning by three-quarters of a length.
Meanwhile, champion jockey Dane Dawkins recorded a three timer on the programme, while trainer Gary Subratie had a double.
Dawkins closed out his triple and Subratie's 2-timer with the 7- 2 chance Sistren Treasure in the Non-Restricted Overnight Allowance contest over 9 furlongs and 25 yards.
Racing continues on Sunday with a 9 race card starting at 12:15 pm and featuring the Sir Howard Stakes over 6 furlongs for classic aspirants in the colts and geldings category.
