Fifty percent pay cut for CWI staff and players

A 50 percent temporary cut in salaries for staff and players and cricket funding has been announced by Cricket West Indies (CWI). The cut which will come into effect at the start of July will include funding for territorial boards, territorial board franchises and WIPA, as well as retainers and allowances for directors and executive management to be cut in half.

The board said it made the cuts due to a significant loss of income brought on by covid-19. CWI also said it had kept staff, players, umpires and coaches on full-pay since the outbreak of Covid-19 before deciding to make cuts in salaries.
