Five Jamaicans get CWI men's team retainer contracts

Jamaican Odean smith along with seamers Obed McCoy and Jayden Seales have been awarded maiden West Indies central retainer contracts for the July 1, 2022 to June 2023 period.

Recently appointed T20 vice-captain Rovman Powell has returned to the contracted list along with batsman Brandon King and bowling all-rounder Romario Shepherd.

The other players for the period are Jamaicans Jermaine Blackwood and Nkrumah Bonner along with test captain Kraigg Brathwaite, Joshua da Silva, Jason Holder, Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran, Kemar Roach and Hayden Walsh Jr.

Meanwhile, Rashada Williams joins former captain Stafanie Taylor, Chedean Nation and Chinelle Henry as the Jamaican female cricketers that are contracted by the CWI. 18 women have been awarded contracts with Williams being one of six developmental players.
