Gayle poised for historic achievement against India in second ODI

The West Indies will be looking to take a 1-0 series lead in their three match One Day International (ODI) Series against India when both teams square off in the second match of the series on Sunday at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago. Only 13 overs were possible in Thursday's first encounter in Guyana which means a win for the Windies would ensure they end a run of eight consecutive series defeats to the Indians. The Caribbean men have also been beaten in their last seven ODI’s at the Queen's Park Oval.

Meanwhile, with sunshine in the forecast for Trinidad, Jamaican Chris Gayle is expected to become the most capped ODI player for the Caribbean team, surpassing Brian Lara with his 300th appearance. The explosive opener is also nine runs away from overtaking Lara's tally of 10,405 ODI runs, the most by a West Indies batsman. Both teams are expected to be unchanged from the first encounter.
