Guineas winterbook favourites clash at Caymanas Park

The first ever clash between the winterbook favourites for this season's first two classics, grabs the bulk of the attention for Saturday's 12-race card at Caymanas Park.

Wayne DaCosta's flying filly, England's Rose who is a full sister to 2-time former horse of the year She's A Maneater, will take on the most improved colt from last season, the Ian Parsard-trained Mahogany in a Restricted Stakes contest over 5-and-a-half furlongs.

Magogany who is unbeaten in three races since being gelded, is the even-money ante-post favourite with regular jockey Dane Dawkins astride.

England's Rose who has been burning up the exercise track, will actually go seven pounds overweight at 115 pounds, the lightest weight she has ever carried in her career, to accomodate the services of 6-time former champion jockey Omar Walker.

England's Rose will also race with the tongue tie fitted for the first time and is showing as the 6-5 second choice in the overnight odds.

Another Parsard entrant, Father Patrick at 9-2 with apprentice Youville Pinnock, is the other well-supported runner in the field of 10 at 9-2.

First post for the 12-race card is 11:45 am with live racing coverage on Power 106 FM.
