With track and field action having resumed last weekend, the Jamaica Basketball Association (JABA) is the latest local governing body pushing to get approval for the resumption of its activities.
Basketball has been classified as one of the high risk sporting disciplines during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but JABA is now exploring alternative means such as a 3-on-3 competition to pave the way for a safe resumption of activities. If approval is granted, JABA would look to start the 3-on-3 competition sometime in April or May.
The National Stadium Courts as well as the Montego Bay Cricket Club and the Buckfield Courts in Ocho Rios are the venues being considered.
There has been no local basketball action since March of last year when sporting activities grinded to a halt due to the pandemic.
