Jaguars assume advantage over Scorpions

A 98-run partnership between Vishaul Singh and Chanderpaul Hemraj wrestled the advantage away from the Jamaica Scorpions at stumps on Friday’s second day of their regional 4-day contest against the Guyana Jaguars at the Trelawny Stadium. The Jaguars closed on 287-6, a lead of 71 runs, having dismissed the Scorpions for 216 on Thursday's opening day.

Singh ended the day on an unbeaten 93 and will resume Saturday’s  third day with Kevin Sinclair who was with him on 20 at the close. Earlier, Chanderpaul Hemraj made 82 while Leon Johnson chipped in with 35 to help bolster Guyana's batting. Spinner Dennis Bulli with 3 for 84 has taken most wickets so far with fellow spinner Patrick Harty junior picking up 2-67. Alwayne Williams with 1-27 has taken the other wicket to fall so far.
