Jamaica ends ITTF Pan Am Youth Champs on losing note

Jamaica's participation at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Pan American Youth Championships in Santo Domingo came to an end on Friday after Solesha Young and the mixed doubles team of Rasheed Clarke and Tsenaye Lewis lost their respective games.

Young who was the only Jamaican to make it from the group stage in the singles competition went out at the round of 32 stage when she lost 4-1 to Alondra Rodriguez of Puerto Rico.

Young was never in the contest, as she lost the first three sets of the best of seven 3-11, 9-11, 3-11.

She however rallied to win the fourth set 11-6 but her fight back was short lived as the fifth set ended 11-7 in favor of the Puerto Rican.

In the Under-15 mixed doubles, the team of Clarke and Lewis  lost 3-0 to Ramon Vila and Shary Munoz of the Dominican Republic. he team is due to arrive in Jamaica on Monday afternoon.
