Jamaica stumbles out of CAC pre-qualifiers for FIBA World Cup

Jamaica failed to advance to the next round of the CAC pre-qualifiers in San Salvador for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup following a narrow 66-68 defeat to hosts El Salvador on Monday evening.

The Jamaicans actually led 18-15 after the first quarter before El Salvador rallied to tie the game at 36-36 heading into the half time break.

The hosts would pull ahead 52-49 at the end of the 3rd quarter before holding on for the two point victory. The Jamaicans finished 4th in the five team table with 6 points after recording two victories.
