The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has written to the world governing body to protest the officiating in the CONCACAF World Cup qualification match between Reggae Boyz and the United States on Tuesday at the National Stadium.
A late header from Damion Lowe could have potentially earned Jamaica a 2-1 win over the Americans, but Costa Rican refereee Juan Gabriel Calderon waved the goal away ruling that Lowe had fouled Walker Zimmerman as both players jostled for possession.
But several football experts including former referees have agreed there was no foul and the goal should have stood.
JFF General Secretary Dalton Wint confirmed with Radio Jamaica Sports that the local governing body has filed an appeal.
