JRC and BGLC chairman explains abandonment of Sunday's race at Caymanas Park

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Denise Walters

Chairman of the Jamaica Racing Commission (JRC) and the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC) Clovis Metcalfe has sought to explain the abandonment of the final race at Caymanas Park on Sunday and how it affects the pay for the betting pools.

The ninth and final race was abandoned due to the inclement weather. Metcalfe, says the decision to call off the race by the operation stewards was a result of the jockeys opting out due to poor visibility. He said only the Pick-9 was affected with all bets for that being refunded.
