Julian Morrison requests chairperson's recusal from anti-doping hearing over conflict of interest

National squash champion Julian Morrison has requested that chairperson Catherine Minto recuse herself from his impending hearing before an Independent Anti Doping Disciplinary Panel begins due to a conflict of interest.

In a letter seen by TVJ Sports, attorneys representing Morrison cited multiple instances where Minto was co-counsel and/or took instructions from Ian Wilkinson KC who is representing the Jamaica Anti Doping Commission - JADCO.

Morrison's legal team said the conflict came to their attention on August 30.

They say the prior working relationships between JADCO's counsel Wilkinson and panel chair Minto were never disclosed to Morrison.

The hearing is set to begin on Tuesday (September 3) and is expected to last for two days.

Morrison was provisionally suspended by JADCO in April after testing positive for trace amounts of the banned anabolic substance Boldenone in an out of competition test on February 21.
