Mahogany the favourite for Gold Cup feature at Caymanas Park

Ian Parsard's exciting charge Mahogany seems well poised to record his fourth consecutive victory this season when he takes on six rivals in Saturday's feature event at Caymanas Park.

The 4 year old chestnut gelding is the 7-5 overnight favourite for the 47th running of the Gold Cup for 3 year old and up Open Allowance and Graded Stakes contestants over 7 furlongs.

Mahogany who is unbeaten in three starts this season, will take six time former champion jockey omar walker to the post with top weight of 126 pounds. 

The inform King Arthur at 2-1 with leading jockey Anthony Thomas; Rojorn Di Pilot at 7-2, the mount of Dick Cardenas and Sentient to be ridden by champion apprentice Oshane Nugent at 9- , are the other well supported runners in the field of seven.

The race is set for 3:40 pm. First post for the 9-race card is 11:30 am.
