Mayers hits unbeaten century as Windies tighten their grip against Bangladesh

The West Indies are 340-5 a lead of 106 runs over Bangladesh at stumps,  on day two of the second test at the Darren Sammy Stadium in St Lucia.

The Carribbean side who resumed day two on 63 without loss, saw middle order batsman Kyle Mayers leading the way with an unbeaten 126, comprising of 15 fours and 2 sixes.

Mayers and wicket-keeper batsman Joshua da Silva who is unbeaten on 26,  have so far shared in a unbeaten sixth wicket stand of 92.
 
He also shared in a 116 run fifth wicket partnership with Jermaine Blackwood who made 40. Earlier, captain Kraigg Brathwaite 51 and John Campbell 45, posted and even century for the opening wicket. Raymon Reifer 22 and Nkumer Bonner nought, were the other batsmen to lose their wickets.

Bowling for Bangladesh, Mehedi Hasan has so far taken 2-68, while Khaled Ahmed bagged 2-77. The other wicket went to Shoriful Islam.

Scores in the match so far: Bangladesh 234 all out, West Indies 340-5.
