Domestic sports in Jamaica may have gotten its first real sign of an imminent return with Minister of Sports Olivia Grange announcing that a series of meetings will be held with the country's sporting associations to determine when various sporting disciplines can resume locally.
In a release on Wednesday, Minister Grange noted that at a meeting with Minister of Health and Welness, Dr Christopher Tufton was held on Monday where both ministries highlighted the importance of the safe return of sports.
They also reiterated their committment to move quickly to finalize the general COVID-19 protocols for sports.
Technical teams from both ministries are expected to meet on Thursday to advance discussions for the safe return
of sport. Most sporting disciplines have been sidelined since March 2020 due restrictions brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
