Nevers has issues with composition of Sunshine Girls squad for Comm Games

Former Sunshine Girls assistant coach Winston Nevers has expressed surprise that goal shooter Giselle Allison did not make the 12-member squad for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England later this summer.

Nevers says the way that the team plays traditionally, it is a shock to him that Allison who plied her trade in England this season, did not make the final cut.

The Commonwealth Games will be held from July 28 to August 8 and while Nevers is not in full agreement with the squad, he has the patriotic wings attached to his body.

The Sunshine Girls have been drawn in Group “A” alongside Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Barbados and Wales. 

They will begin their campaign against Wales on July 29.
