Nevis cricket boss upset by son's non-selection for Windies tour of Bangladesh

President of the Nevis Cricket Association, Carlisle Powell has blasted Cricket West Indies (CWI) for their failure to select his son, opener Kieran Powell for their upcoming tour of Bangladesh.

The issue surrounds the timing of a failed fitness test by Powell who missed out on selection for the West Indies upcoming tour of Bangladesh.

Cricket West Indies says despite the fact that Powell top scored in the most recent edition of the regional Super 50 tournament, he was left out for failing to meet their fitness requirements.

But with that failed fitness test being from December of 2019,  Powell's father says the West Indies’ reasoning is disingenuous.

Powell scored 524 runs at an average of 58.22 with 2 centuries and 2 half centuries to top the run charts in the last regional Super 50 cup competition.
