New FIFA boss identifies Caribbean for future development

The Caribbean is one area identified for development under new FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who spent his first day in office on Monday.

To mark the occasion, the Italian-born Swiss national played an informal football match with FIFA employees and guests. Infantino had articulated his hope for the Caribbean in a press conference following victory in the elections on Friday.

“I want to see some concrete actions done by FIFA and done by each and every national association when it comes to football development. I want to see the Caribbean League playing, I want to see grassroot academies in Africa,” said the new FIFA boss.
