Outgoing Jamaica Athletics Administrative Associatyion (JAAA) president Dr Warren Blake has hit back at calls for online or virtual voting to take place for this month's scheduled Annual General Meeting (AGM) and elections, labelling them as disingenous.

Recently, Donald Quarrie, one of the presidential hopefuls for the JAAA, called for the upcoming elections due later this month to be conducted online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like Quarrie, national coach Lennox Graham who is also based in the United States, suggested in a recent newspaper story that virtual voting be allowed because of the restrictions brought on by COVID-19.

Current General Secretary Garth Gayle is the other presidential candidate. The JAAA Annual General Meeting and elections, to be overseen by the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ), are scheduled for November 28.
