Overseas-based Jamaican coaches endorse revamped CONCACAF WCQ format

Voices of coaches Vin Blaine and Omar Edwards

Director of Football for the US Virgin Islands Football Association, Jamaican Vin Blaine says he is quite pleased with the revamped format for the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers.

The new format will see the lower ranked teams in the region play more games and Blaine says it’s good for his scenario with the USVI who will kick off action in round one of the qualifiers in October.

Meanwhile, Jamaica's Omar Edwards is the head coach of the Turks and Caicos Islands Football team and he also spoke favourably of the new format. The draw for the 2022 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers is slated for August 14.
